Inspired by the history and views of the West Chelsea neighborhood, Lantern House by Elliot March and James White of MAWD is a one-of-a-kind collection of residences along the High Line. Each of the 181 residences features the building's signature three-dimensional bay windows in every room, seamlessly blending the indoors with the outdoors. The abundant natural light serves as the centerpiece of the design, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The interiors of Lantern House are a testament to craftsmanship and attention to detail. MAWD's design seamlessly complements the distinctive architecture, resulting in homes that are both timeless and undeniably luxurious. The use of special materials, such as old barnwood cast in resin panels and handmade liquid bronze panels with fragmented cracks, adds a touch of rustic elegance to the spaces, paying homage to the neighboring High Line.

The amenities at Lantern House are designed to transform from day to night, offering residents a seamless transition from work to play. The coworking spaces, for example, can easily be transformed into entertaining spaces in the evening. The library features a large fireplace and overlooks the gardens and courtyard, providing a cozy and intimate setting. The adjacent lounge, with its stone-clad bar, is the perfect place for residents to gather with neighbors and friends over a cocktail. Additionally, a large dining room can be reserved by residents for special gatherings.

Located in West Chelsea, New York City, Lantern House is a testament to the power of thoughtful design. The project started in Q4 2016 and is expected to be completed in 2021. Throughout the development of the interiors, MAWD's Experience Centric Design approach was used, ensuring that the spaces are optimized for the user experience. By understanding the needs and desires of the residents, MAWD was able to create a narrative thread that engages with the audience and delivers rich environments.

Lantern House has been recognized for its outstanding design and creativity. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements and making the world a better place.
